The Promise Of Paso Robles
By Robert M. Parker, Jr.
"Back in 1990, there were fewer than 20 wineries in and around Paso Robles, a farming community midway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Most of the wines produced there were rustic, highly tannic and alcoholic, with little charm or finesse. Today there are more than 170 wineries in Paso Robles, and the area is going through a metamorphosis." ....."Paso Robles remains a work in progress, but I believe the region already shows some of the most striking potential in all of California".
Our Wines have gained many accolades and awards. Over the years Four Sisters Ranch has sold grapes and bulk wine to many prestigious wineries in Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Texas including Baron Herzog’s Cabernet Sauvignon. Our wines have received awards at the various competitions. In 2007, Four Sisters Ranch created its own label and bottled Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah wines. Four Sisters Ranch will next produce barrel aged Merlot and our Private Reserve Label is coming. Read some Noteworthy Reviews.

2005 Cabernet Sauvignon: $22.00
“River Cab”, so named because these grapes are grown on the hillside banks of the Estrella River where it is cooler and the growing season is prolonged. In fact, these grapes were not harvested until November 18, 2005. All that extra time on the vine allowed the grapes to mature to their exceptional flavor profile. When tasting this wine you will find a fruit forward experience with a long, pleasant finish. It is bold yet soft on the palate with hints of black currant, black cherry, fresh cocoa, and a smidgen of vanilla. It is a wine that begs a second glass.
Review:
A laid back and balanced wine make this Cabernet easy on the palate. It offers a sophisticated floral nose with hints of violet, black currants, cherries, chocolate, and yes, vanilla, that heightened this drinker's curiosity. The wineís subtle tannins make for a light mouthful, and soft fruit flavors provide a pleasant hint of sweetness. A great wine to pair with lighter grilled meats, honey walnut prawns, or a braised lamb shank. Food and Beverage International www.fbworld.com
2005 Syrah: $22.00
These grapes are grown in the ideal microclimate of the Paso Robles area where the warm days and cool nights allow the grapes to mature to their full flavor potential. The Syrah’s canopy has been adjusted to allow just the right amount of sunlight to hit the fruit. It is a vigorous grape plant – rich, complex and simply delicious with some earthiness, a hint of plum and boysenberry balanced with cocoa and coffee tones. This Syrah is a true California gem – friendly and drinkable with a long finish.
Review:
Hold this glass up to the sunlight and revel in the beautiful gem like hues. A light, highly drinkable wine with great legs make this Syrah a great compliment to warm summer evenings with friends. Its wall of floral nose with a hint of leather offers a dry, subtle fruit palate that builds to a lingering, balanced finish with a hint of spice. Grill up some salmon and enjoy, but this drinkable wine will go great with anything you've got going. Food and Beverage International www.fbworld.com
2005 Merlot: $20.00
The Merlot has been barrel aged and is characterized by a medium body taste, with hints of berry, plum, currant and chocolate on the finish. Its softness and “fleshiness” combined with its earlier ripening makes it delightfully sultry on the palate. It goes well with a variety of foods.
Review: "Good wine, unexpected pleasure, flawless, food friendly, very approachable even at a young age". Chris Miller, Sommelier, Spago Restaurant Beverly Hills, Ca.

On the banks of the Estrella River our “River Cab” is grown in limestone rich soils unique to the Paso Robles area where cool nights and warm days produce a longer growing season and grapes with a remarkable flavor profile. Using sustainable farming practices we take great pride in this classy Cabernet: hints of dark cherry, black currant, mouth filling tannins, oak, and smooth vanilla with an exceptional long finish. It is a wine that begs a second glass. …goes well with beef, pizza, pasta, poultry, spicy food, rosemary seasoned pork loin, rack of lamb, aged cheese…
